What are some good books on bands or solo artists from the 60′s 70′s and 80′s?

I am going to start reading the book Woodstock and I want to know if there are any other books out there that resemble that and are about musicians from the 60′s 70′s and 80′s. thanks for the help.

It doesn’t really resemble “Woodstock,” but you might want to try “Wonderland Avenue” by danny sugarman – it’s about the author’s intimate friendships with Jim morrisson then later Iggy Pop. “Buried Alive” is a great biography on Janis Joplin. “The Filth and the Fury” by the sex pistols has some awesome quotes and pictures. It’s written by the band and is as outrageously self-centered as the movie, as is “No Irish No Blacks No Dogs” by johnny rotten. “I’m with the Band” by Pamela des Barres is a good one – shows the point of view of a groupie who slept with a bunch of 60′s rockstars (stones, zeppelin, etc). It’s very emotional, amusing, talks about drug abuse, humiliation, excesses – you know, the sixties.
